Latency, in regards to networking, is the time from when a source sends a packet and the destination receives it.

Latency, in regards to networking, is the time from when a source sends a packet and the destination receives it. It can be measured one way or round trip.The round trip time does not include the time delay the destination took to reply. It is from the time the packet is placed on the network.
